Snooker is played with a white cue ball, 15 red balls and six balls of other colours. It has been played in New Zealand from around the 1890s, but became more popular from the 1930s, taking over from billiards.
Located upstairs the Petone Clubs snooker room is a fit for purpose room with 8 quality snooker tables, air conditioning and scoreboards. With regular Clubs New Zealand and Petone Club snooker tournaments the snooker room is frequently visited by members and their guests.
Lights for the snooker tables are 50cents for 15minutes and snooker cues are freely available. Separated from the rest of the club the snooker room is a quiet place to enjoy a great game with new and old friends alike.
